1. WT study - because it's the essence of WT dogma, it's boring, even more if there was a boring talk before, and the "friends" use it to comment their own restrictive views on stuff... like hairstyle and the like.
2. service meeting - because 1 hour is hard to bear, but the second hour's just unstandable. brothers very often exceed their time...
3. book study - because it's on an extra day. another evening spoiled
4. public talk - always the same stuff. heard it all before...
5. theocratic school

Of The 5 Meetings, Was There One You Hated More Than The Others?
by minimus inusually, i enjoyed the public talk, if the speaker was good but i thought the theocratic ministry was boring!!!.
the service meeting was just a sales meeting.
the book studies were simply ridiculous.

Sharing the 'real' truth by commenting at meetings
by skeeder inhaving recently gotten my commenting 'privleges' back i try to sow seeds of truth with them.. here are two tidbits i have shared:.
1----- the bible highlights-------when the older men judged legal cases, they did it at the city gates where the proceedings could be observed.. 2-----wt study yesterday-----the world was judged wicked and noah was judged righteous---he was a 'preacher of righteousness' before he started on the ark.
there is no indication that god ever intended for anyone else other than noah and his family to get on the ark.

the problem is: half of them is sleeping and does not hear it, the other half doesn't understand it.

Gentlemen, Ladies and Muslims!!!!
by Gill ina very good friend of mine is in charge of plant maintenance at a local factory.
there are 300 people working in this factory and two of them are muslims.
the muslims have requested that they require special toilets just for themselves.

Apostate of the Month planning thread.
by wanderlustguy inokeydokey, i started communicating with one of the moderators about this, and i haven't heard back yet, but it doesn't seem like there should be an issue if we are nice about this whole thing, maybe it can be fun.. first off, if no one wants to do it, no point.. <deleted by wlg>.
third, the idea is not to raise someone up on a pedestal, but to recognize personal progress and/or the help given to other people, even if it's just creating a pleasant environment.

if jackass of the month is to be selfnominated, then there shouldn't be a problem.

wanderlustguy, actually i like controversal topics, that's all ;)
sweetstuff, i think the problem is that first you generalize the term cheating and then you apply the same consequence to all of it.
in the rare occasion i am out with my male friends, get a little drunk and finally find myself with a girl on my lap i don't risk aids, haven't crossed MY line and don't feel the need to confess. on the contrary, i feel the need to better keep this for myself (and ask my friends not to publish the pictures on internet). i might even consider it a mistake, but not a huge one at that. -

i wonder why everytime established morals are discussed, the pedophile "argument" comes up. that's got plain nothing to do with it. we are still talking about consenting adults here.
of course in wonderland spouses share everything to the last secret for 60 years of their perfect relationship and then they die. but you know - i HAVE to make my own decisions of what's good or bad for me, simply because i no longer believe in the watchtower, and my spouse does. people change over time - and that's no big issue, it's pretty normal.
she's got secrets, i got secrets and everythings fine - nobodie's perfect. -

What DOES DAing say to a JW?
by sweet pea inbesty and i are of the opinion that if more people da'd and said they didn't believe in the whole thing, it would send a serious message to jws.
you wouldn't need to actually criticize the organisation, avoiding the 'apostate' label.
we know that for many, fading is the only option right now, because of the pain involved in losing friends and family but, surely, if enough people went down this route, then more would have the courage to do the same?

people who DA still believe in The Truth(tm), but just don't want to live up to it's high moral standards. that's what DAing sais to a JW.
